What is essential for Happiness?
If you google happiness, you’ll come across all sorts of things. The Greek word that usually gets translated as “happiness” is eudaimonia, while the typical article you’ll find will be like this one from the Huffington Post describing the 5 Essentials you need for Happiness. (health, money, relationships, contentment, self-love)
I recently watched an HBO documentary called State of Play: Happiness. Although you’ll need an HBO subscription to watch it (or pirate away as you do), the gist of it is outlined well in this review on arrowheadpride.com
The documentary focused on the science behind happiness, and the changes that one must go through to find happiness during and after times of extreme change. Three essentials they listed were: Physical & Mental Fitness, A Community of Support, and a Feeling of Purpose that extends beyond oneself.
Does anyone know what this symbol means?
Unity + Community = Infinite Strength
(Interesting hey? I’ll bet a few wall-of-respect peeps didn’t know that.)
This is a long preamble for a pretty cool thing that happened in the Morning Crew last month. Well, it started with Chris (the photo houdini) battling cancer and managing to keep it on the down-low for weeks while he endured chemo, AND got his first muscle up. Once Chris had surgery and the cat was out of the bag, the Morning Crew rallied (with Walter at it’s helm) and put together this video:
Pretty cool.
Big love to Chris & Cindy, the Morning Crew, and Walter for putting it all together.

PS. For Aristotle, happiness is a final end or goal that encompasses the totality of one’s life. It is not something that can be gained or lost in a few hours, like pleasurable sensations. It is more like the ultimate value of your life as lived up to this moment, measuring how well you have lived up to your full potential as a human being.
Food for thought…
