Pound-for-pound gymnasts are some of the strongest athletes in the world, meaning their strength-to-weight ratio is unmatched by any other sport. They also have great body control, muscular endurance, mobility and flexibility, coordination, balance and accuracy.
We practice gymnastics and kinesthetics—starting with basic adult gymnastics—to help you gain bodyweight strength and body awareness.
We were born gymnasts: Little kids are flexible and strong. The monkey bars are fun for them. But somewhere along the way, we lose that instinct to try things like handstands and cartwheels, and we lose our bodyweight strength in the process. We will help you get to the point where monkey bars are fun again.
Some of the simple gymnastics movements we do are air squats, burpees, ring rows and push-ups, while some more complex gymnastics movements our more advanced athletes get into are skills like pull-ups, handstand push-ups, muscle-ups, hollow rocks, levers—the list goes on.
If you lose the ability to do basic gymnastics, you’ll lose the ability to live a good life. Here’s an example: A burpee is pretty much just lying on the ground and then standing back up again. Everyone needs to be able to do this. If you fall down, you need to be able to pick yourself up again. If you don’t have the strength to push yourself off the ground when you’re 80 years old, you’ll find yourself living a pretty dependent life.
