Take a little off the thighs please!!!
I came across this video a few moths ago and thought I’d share it with all of you (many of you may have seen it on social media). This video is an eye opener on just how much images around us are manipulated and airbrushed.
I’ve known for a long time about airbrushing, etc but this video really shows the extent of it. It’s actually appalling and I think it’s important for these types of videos to be out there and shown to the public, especially the female public, and the younger female population even more so.
Take a look at how much they manipulate this woman, who in my opinion is very attractive and slim to begin with, shaping her body, elongating her features. It’s pretty crazy that this is the society we live in, but no wonder why women in particular have so many issues with perfection, striving to be the skinniest, prettiest, sexiest, tallest, the list goes on and seems to be never ending.
So my question is how do you feel about airbrushing? Did you know the extent as to which they were manipulating the images? Is there any way of regulating this further?
I personally think we need to stop pushing images of what is “beautiful” and realize that beauty comes in many different packages.

Awesome post, Meags.
While I’m not one to shy away from more regulation (COMMIES UNITE!!), I don’t think more regulation is the answer here.
We simply need to stop buying into the shit that the air-brushers, and associated industry, are selling us. Once we actually BELIEVE (talk is cheap, yo!) that beauty is found WITHIN, we will stop trying to attain an UNATTAINABLE STANDARD of beauty, and stop buying the shitting magazines that employ those air-brushers.

I haven’t watched the video. I am sure it is (or demonstrates) more of the same – make people feel insecure to buy stuff. The solution isn’t to stop people from portraying women or men in a certain way, the solution it to not care and not buy their crap. There is nothing worse than being ignored.
