CFP MIA – Get Well!!
Some of you may have noticed Charlie Palmer’s absence.
After an eventful summer that included getting engaged, last week he had a run-in with his appendix (maybe too much fun at Nutts Cup?). A day later, he was in surgery getting his appendix removed.
He’s out of the hospital now, but apparently he’s on an all liquid diet and is likely bored out of his mind. So let’s give him some kind words to read while he rests up. Post to comments what you love about Charlie Palmer.
I love that he has time for everyone! He’s never in a rush to pursue his own selfish interests. Instead, he takes the time to really listen to people, to really give people the time we all deserve. Heal up, Charlie!!
Lesson Plan for Tuesday, August 27th:
Warm-up: 2 rounds
20 second handstand hold
20 second samson lunge hold (10s/leg)
12 burpees
Strength/Technique: Push Press (5,3,3,3,1,1)
For the sets of 3 and 5 reps pay particular attention to the form and rebound to string your push presses together. This will pay off when the load is lightened and your efficiently string them together in the WoD.
WoD: Open Workout 12.3 (kinda)
AMRAP in 18 minutes of:
15 Box jumps (24/20)
12 Shoulder to Overhead (115/75)
9 Toes-to-bar

Too often, when you’re talking to someone, you can tell that they are not listening, but rather just thinking about what they plan to say next.
Charlie does not do this. He listens. I love that about CHAWWWHEEEEEEE.

Charlie finds a way to connect with everyone, and always genuinely. He gives coaching tips that are individual, and he pays close attention to our progress–that means a lot! And although he offers tons to motivate his students, I have really appreciated the messages around safety and self-care. Thanks, Charlie! J’te souhaite un prompt retablissement. And congrats on your engagement!

Charlie is an awesome person who genuinely cares about who you are and what you say. He helped change my life when I joined Crossfit, I couldn’t have done it without him. He knows just how much to push you when you need that little bit more of encouragement to do your best. We all miss you at the 8pm classes so get well soon!

Get well soon Charlie! We miss you at the 8 pm.
One of my favorite things about Charlie is his attitude about crossfit – it’s about getting a kick ass workout in, of course, but also about connecting with others and becoming a better person in the process.
Also, his music selection is awesome.
